Use Online Resources: Get online, here you can find several resources that can help you and many of these resources and guides are free. Also, try changing what you eat. You can use many different ingredients in place of the high fat ones you may normally use. Instead of using dairy products in mashed potatoes, try using vegetable or chicken stock that is low in sodium. It will add flavor without the additional fat. Before eating something that’s high in fat or calories ask yourself, “is this worth being fat for”. Sometimes the answer will be “yes” and that is ok, but you may find that most foods not be worth the extra weight they can add. There are many free sites available offering calorie counters and journals that will keep track of your progress. They may also offer forums, so you can discuss any questions or issues with people trying to lose weight as well.
